Why I Do This Work and How It Can Support You
Healing is not a single moment — it’s a relationship we build with our bodies over time.
My name is Yolanda Parrish, and I’ve spent the last 22 years working as a massage therapist, supporting people through pain, stress, recovery, and transformation. Massage therapy has never been “just a service” for me — it’s a conversation with the nervous system, a way of helping the body remember how to soften, release, and heal.
My work is deeply informed by movement. I have over 30 years of experience as a dancer, including the last 13 years dedicated to partner dance, which has given me a profound understanding of biomechanics, balance, connection, and communication through the body. Dance taught me how bodies compensate, how tension patterns form, and how healing often begins with awareness rather than force.
In 2009, I began my yoga practice, which further shaped my approach to wellness. Yoga introduced me to breathwork, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation — tools that I now weave into every session I offer. Whether I’m providing therapeutic massage, lymphatic drainage, or relaxation-focused bodywork, my intention is always the same: to help your body feel safe enough to let go.
This blog is an extension of that work.
Here, we’ll explore:
Massage therapy as a long-term wellness tool
Lymphatic massage for recovery, detoxification, and inflammation
Nervous system regulation and stress reset practices
Movement as medicine
Meditation and mindful living
If you’re looking for quick fixes, this space may challenge you. But if you’re ready to build a deeper relationship with your body — one rooted in consistency, compassion, and care — you’re in the right place.
